In her twenty-fifth adventure, vampire hunter and necromancer Anita Blake learns that evil is in the eye of the beholder
Anita has never seen Damian, her vampire servant, in such a state. The rising sun doesn’t usher in the peaceful death that he desperately needs. Instead, he’s being bombarded with violent nightmares and blood sweats.
And now, with Damian at his most vulnerable, Anita needs him the most. The vampire who created him, who subjected him to centuries of torture, might be losing control, allowing rogue vampires to run wild and break one of their kind’s few strict taboos.
Some say love is a great motivator, but hatred gets the job done, too. And when Anita joins forces with her friend Edward to stop the carnage, Damian will be at their side, even if it means traveling back to the land where all his nightmares spring from a place that couldn’t be less welcoming to a vampire, an assassin, and a necromancer: Ireland. From the Hardcover edition.

It was good It has some holes in it but it’s definitely leading into the next book. It’s like she had to write it in a hurry. But you’ll need to read it in order to keep up with the next book. I feel like she forgot something and realized it after it was released. Don’t make us wait as long Laurell you’ll lose to many people if you do.

Gripping Another great book with all the beloved characters in it. Anita does cool magic. The ardeur is fed. Yes, and a great twist of an ending. Set in Ireland, Hamilton connects Fey to vampires. How long have we been waiting for that!?

Meh I miss the true Edward and anita books. I felt a bit cheated. It was more like edward had a cameo. I would like to see some prequel books I think that anita is so overpowered now that the fear of her death or injury is not remotely possible. I also feel that how she was ‘captured’ was bull. It was a cop out cause 3/4 of the book was wasted on all these inter personal issues.
